California Privacy Notice
This notice outlines the privacy rights afforded to California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act of 2020 (collectively, the "CCPA"). The CCPA requires businesses like DINQ.me ("DINQ," "we," "us," or "our") to provide specific disclosures to California consumers. While our full data practices are described in our Privacy Policy, we maintain this separate notice to comply with the CCPA's formatting and content requirements.
1. We Do Not Sell or Share Your Personal Information
DINQ does not sell your personal information. To support our free services, we may engage in "sharing" (as defined by CCPA) for limited advertising purposes. You have full control over this through your Settings.
Your DINQ Card is public by design--this is essential to our service as a professional directory and enables others to discover your work. This public availability:
- Is initiated and controlled by you;
- Is limited to information you choose to include in your profile;
- Does not constitute "selling" or "sharing" under the CCPA, as it is not used for targeted advertising across third-party platforms.
2. Your Rights Under the CCPA
As a California resident, you have the following rights under the CCPA:
2.1 Right to Know
You may request:
- A copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- A summary of how we collected, used, and disclosed your personal information over the past 12 months, including:
- Categories of personal information collected;
- Purposes for each category;
- Sources of the information;
- Categories of third parties with whom we disclosed it for a business purpose.
2.2 Right to Delete
You may request deletion of your personal information by closing your account or contacting us. We will comply unless an exception applies (e.g., to complete a transaction, prevent fraud, or comply with legal obligations).
2.3 Right to Correct
You can edit most of your personal information directly in your DINQ profile. If you need assistance correcting inaccurate data, contact us.
2.4 Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information
DINQ does not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes other than those permitted by the CCPA (e.g., to process your payments or provide essential services).
2.5 Right to Non-Discrimination
We will not discriminate against you for exercising any CCPA right (e.g., by denying service or charging different prices).
2.6 Right to Notice
We will not collect new categories of personal information or use your data for materially different purposes without first notifying you.
2.7 Minors Under 16
Our services are not intended for individuals under 16. We do not knowingly collect their personal information or sell/share it.

4. The CCPA Categories of Personal Information We "Share"
While we do not sell your personal information, we may engage in "sharing" as defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). The CCPA broadly defines "sharing" as the disclosure of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising-- specifically, when companies use data derived from a consumer's activity across distinctly branded websites or services to deliver targeted advertisements. DINQ's sharing practices and the categories of personal information involved are described therein. We do not share sensitive personal information. DINQ members may opt out of this sharing by adjusting their preferences in Member Settings, and guests may do so through Guest Controls. Additionally, if we receive a valid Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal from your browser indicating your choice to opt out of sharing, we will automatically honor that preference.
5. The CCPA Categories of Personal Information We Disclose for a "Business Purpose"
The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) requires us to describe the "business purposes" for which we may disclose your personal information. As outlined in our Privacy Policy, we may disclose your personal information to support our operational needs in delivering and maintaining our Services. Additionally, we may disclose personal information at your direction--for example, when you choose to interact with other members through our platform.

We may disclose the categories of personal information described in Section 3 to Service Providers, as defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), to enable them to perform services on our behalf pursuant to a written contract. We may also disclose such information to other parties for purposes permitted by the CCPA and disclosed to you--such as responding to lawful requests from law enforcement.
5.5 Marketing and Advertising
Except as noted above, we may disclose the categories of personal information described in Section 3 to our partners, service providers, and affiliated companies for the purpose of providing marketing and advertising services on our behalf, such as measuring ad performance, optimizing audience targeting, or delivering promotional content across platforms. These disclosures are limited to purposes permitted under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and occur only where we have provided notice and, if required, obtained consent.
